I have never once watched a Super 8 film and thought – I've seen this before. The medium won't allow it. While digital wedding films can blur together – Super 8 never does. It's dreamy, textured, and alive in a way you don't just watch – you feel. It’s beautifully unpredictable – and that’s not a flaw (it’s the whole point).
I'm Anna Jones, a Des Moines–based wedding photographer and Super 8 wedding filmmaker. I shoot real Super 8 film for couples drawn to nostalgia, texture, and motion that feels alive. There is no preset, no digital overlay, no edit that can recreate what analog film does naturally – the way it turns a moment from last Saturday into something that already feels like a memory you've carried for years.
Super 8 is beautifully unpredictable, and that unpredictability is exactly where the magic lives.
