Second Nature is a maternity and family photography series photographed on film along the Iowa shoreline, where bold analog color meets windblown afternoons and the beautiful unpredictability of summer with a toddler already in the water. Red against grey-green waves. A small figure at the edge of things. A mother watching, holding, stretching her arms above her head like she's taking up the space she's earned.
These images don't pause for the camera. They move the way that season moves — noisy, tender, a little chaotic, and gone before you've finished feeling it.
