Editorial Maternity Photography in Des Moines, Iowa

Field Study is an editorial maternity series photographed in the prairie grasslands and water edges surrounding Des Moines — places where the horizon is wide and the light has room to do something. Shot on film with a soft, observational eye, the series places the pregnant body within the natural world rather than in front of it: submerged in still water at dusk, half-dissolved into tall grass and open sky, present the way weather is present.
