Downtown Des Moines has some of the most underused architecture for engagement photography in the Midwest — and Tiana and Joe's courthouse session shows exactly what's possible there. Grand stone facades, soft riverwalk light, and spaces that feel built for film shaped a gallery full of movement, texture, grain, and quiet connection that felt more like film stills than engagement photos.

A pearl-detailed bridal look and classic tailoring gave everything a fashion-forward edge, while a documentary-inspired approach kept it feeling emotional and genuine throughout. Shot primarily on film with a mix of digital, this Des Moines engagement session is a strong example of how courthouse and city locations can feel artistic, cinematic, and deeply personal. For Tiana and Joe, this was just the start — click here to see their gorgeous summer wedding at The World Food Prize.
